2010 Whitesburg Lodge/OES Christmas Party

By Brother Charles Hall

The Whitesburg Lodge # 754 F. & A.M. and
the Hester Chapter of the OES held their
annual Christmas Party Friday night.
There was over 100-plus Brothers, Sisters,
family members, and friends in attendance
to celebrate the Christmas holiday.

The night began with a traditional
Christmas meal of baked spiral ham and
turkey with all the trimmings and a spread
of delicious desserts.  Following the meal,
several Brothers were awarded pins for 25
and 40 years of membership in the Lodge.
Brother Arius Holbrook followed the pin
ceremony with a brief talk on the true
Christian meaning of Christmas and its
importance to mankind and future
generations.

The rest of the night belonged to Santa
Clause visiting the 30 boys and girls
present at the Lodge.  Many boys and girls
had long awaited the arrival of Santa on the
rooftop of the Lodge.  Most of the children
got the opportunity to tell Santa what they
wanted for Christmas, get their photo with
Santa, receive a present, and come away
with a treat bag filled with fruit, nuts, and
candy.

On behalf of every Master Mason of
Whitesburg 754, We would like to thank all
OES and Lodge members who prepared
the meal and desserts, decorated the
dining hall, and provided the gifts, treat
bags, and Santa.  The evening was one of
the best Christmas parties we have had
and it was filled with great food and even
greater fellowship.
