Master’s Masonic Message (October)

CHARITY-(noun) The impartial love of other people. My brother's, there it is, Charity. This
is what we do and what we are all about. I would like thank all those who helped out with the
Bicycle give away, especially Brothers Charles Hall and Sammy Frazier. For those that do not
know, these two brothers bought two extra bicycles and allowed our lodge to give them away
at the Mountain Heritage Festival to four children. Winners of the bicycles were Rylie Morgan,
Mason Douglas Franklin, Zach Maggard, and the daughter of Amanda Sturgill. My brothers
people know that this lodge does exist for we have been shining that Masonic Light
everywhere we have gone. Charity goes further than any monetary amount. Charity defines
everything we are supposed to do as Masons. By donating our time, which is one thing we will
never get back, to help our brothers, our children, and our community we can only have
positive outcomes from our efforts. I will never forget the look on the faces of the children that
registered for the bicycles at the Festival. Each one was just lit up with joy and I wished that I
had the resources available to give them all a bicycle. I never knew that something as little as
that bicycle, or thinking back to Valentines day and those roses that were delivered would bring
such a bright smile to someone's face. Brothers these are times I will never forget. But our
charity, our willingness to give to someone in need, is definitely what defines us as
Masons.
Brothers the month of October will be hectic, and also monumental. Hectic in the ways of
having the Grand Lodge Function. I am honestly looking forward to attending this year as
Master of our Lodge. I represented our lodge last year and it was too, and experience I will
never forget. This year my brothers I will be voting on the amendments the way our lodge
advised. And, this year I will have my dad with me. Again something that I am sure that he and I
will enjoy. WE will also be welcoming Brother Herman Forester as our new Grand Master of
our Fraternity. I will be sharing the proposed amendments and give a report at the first meeting
of November.
October 25th is a day that I would like everybody to mark on their calendars. For this will
be the first time in the Commonwealth of Kentucky that a Lodge Meeting will be held on a
Battlefield since the Civil War. The meeting will take place Saturday, October 25th at the Battle
of Little Leatherwood in Cornettsville, KY. We will eat around 3:30 or 4pm, and the lodge
meeting will begin promptly at 5PM. At this meeting we will be conferring the Entered
Apprentice Degree, which means that ALL MASONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND. I will be sure
that this will be an evening that none that are in attendance will soon forget. I am very excited
to have this opportunity for our lodge to be able to place another "First" in its history.
Brothers also I am going to inform you that we will also be conferring the Third Degree on
three brothers on November the 8th. And I would like for all those that can attend to attend.
This meeting will begin with a dinner at 6PM and the Degree work will begin at 7PM. Please
bring your families to this meeting, it has been way too long since we have all gotten together.
Brothers in closing please remember to shine your light outside the doors of the lodge,
help your brother when he is down and continue with that Charity that we do as Masons.
Brothers we will also be having another amnesty program which will conclude at the last
meeting of NOVEMBER. If you know a brother who has been suspended and is interested in
getting back in good standing with our lodge, be sure to have his REINSTATEMENT
PETITION turned in by the last meeting of November. I will not be at the last meeting of
October but I will be back for the Battlefield Meeting. Brother's I hope to see many of you there.

"FROM THE CRAFT I CAME, AND TO THE CRAFT I WILL RETURN". See you at the
meetings.
